My number one trick for balancing any outfit

I quickly wanted to share with you guys one of the oldest, yet understated, trick to balance any outfit you may try on or leave the house in. It is sometimes easy to go the sexy route without over thinking it, like wearing a super short skirt with a very tight top that shows everything you got (which is okay too, by the way, no jugement here). But sometimes, you want to balance things out, because being sexy is not always about showing everything you got. It is also about letting people guess, wonder, imagine. I’ve always been an advocate of “show one thing at a time”, so that you stay chic, elegant, yet playful. No wonder off the shoulder tops have been huge these past seasons ; they don’t show a lot, yet are still super flattering.

So, the trick is, if you wear something super short at the bottom (like this picnic skirt), wear something flowy and long on top. If you opt for baggy, menswear inspired pants, put on something sexier on top that shows your shoulders or a bit of cleavage. That way, you won’t look like you over did it, yet coworkers or friends might point out the fact that you look hella good on this particular day.

This trick can be applied to basically any outfit for any occasion, but eh, rules are still meant to be broken sometimes.
