Mini Expo: Bianca Des Jardins

Welcome to the first “Mini Expo” post of Dentelle+Fleurs, in which I’ll showcase my favorite photographers from Montreal (and maybe expend to other cities, who knows!). Photography has always been a part of my life, I always loved to capture images and moments, and looking at other people’s work has thought me so much through the years. Being inspired is always a good idea and that is the meaning of this new kind of posts.

I wanted to start the Mini Expos with someone that captures great faces, shares not only simple beauty, but also a different universe in her images. Bianca Des Jardins can tell a story in only a click, a story with a soft and beautiful vibe. I “met” her on Instagram (my favorite platform) and since I followed her, I’ve always been a fan, because her work is simply amazing. I asked her a few photography questions to let you guys know what she is all about:

What are your inspirations? Light, art, youth, love and this very moment.

Do you prefer digital or film? My heart belongs to film photography, but I prefer digital for his efficiency.

Favorite photographer? I have lots, but my faves right now are Vivienne Mok and Kesler Tran.

Why photography? When I was 15, I was (and still is) a huge fan of Lara Jade. I started looking into photos by creating artistic images with a webcam (yes!), then I got a better instrument and I knew that this is what I wanted to be, a photographer.

What would you say to someone who wants to start taking photos? I finished photography school 3 years ago and I still think I am at the beginning of my learning process. Shoot, Shoot, Shoot, never stop and always look forward, because it takes time. Also, developing your own style is very important.

If you want to learn more about Bianca, you can follow her on Facebook, Instagram or on her website.

Psstt, if you want to see bigger images, just click on them and a gallery will appear!
